Youth Development Specialist

Judson Community Partnership (JCP) - Greenville, SC

Do you love working with kids?Do you want a job that impacts lives?Do you want flexible hours, a mission-driven team, and work that feels meaningful at the end of the day?

We’re looking for someone energetic, organized, creative, and genuinely big-hearted to join our team at Judson Community Partnership.

JCP is a nonprofit after-school and summer program serving elementary students in Greenville, SC. Our students receive academic support, mentorship, meals, fitness classes, art therapy, mental health support, and a safe place to grow and belong.

This isn’t just childcare. This is relationship-based work that can truly change students lives.

What the Job Actually Feels Like

One moment you might be helping a student with homework. The next, you’re leading a game, encouraging a struggling child, organizing a family night, mentoring college aged interns, or helping create a space where kids feel safe and loved.

No two days look exactly the same — and that’s part of what makes this role so special.

We’re a small nonprofit, which means we all jump in wherever needed. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, flexible, emotionally intelligent, and excited to build deep relationships with students and families.

If you’re someone who:

  • naturally connects with kids

  • brings positive energy into a room

  • cares deeply about people

  • likes creativity and variety

  • wants work with purpose

…you’ll probably fit in really well here.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a classroom of elementary students during after-school and summer programming

  • Build strong relationships with students and families

  • Help facilitate fun, engaging, and meaningful daily activities

  • Support students academically, emotionally, and socially

  • Coordinate with interns, volunteers, and community partners

  • Help organize family nights, events, and special activities

  • Keep programs and spaces organized behind the scenes

  • Collaborate closely with our leadership team and Youth Development Coordinator to improve and grow programs

The schedule includes a lot of flexibility and time off, but the caveat is that when it’s time to work, there is very little ability to miss. This position is ideal for someone who values meaningful work and sustainable rhythms of life.

Compensation

  • $30,000–$40,000/year depending on experience

  • Full-time salaried position

  • Approximately 20 direct program hours weekly, plus planning/events/meetings on occasion.
